There was no shortage of participants or excitement and fun at the VII Domino World Championshipsheld from the 11th to 14th May 2009 in the beautiful city of St. Petersburg Russia. The Domino International Federation organized the event, which was hosted by the wonderful Moscow Hotel. There was $50,000 in prizes to be had and Dominoes Stars were proud to be part of the event as the major sponsors.


Dominoes Stars holds the position of being the first to launch the first domino game website in February 2009. In just a few short months, Dominoes Stars has become the number one topic of conversation on the internet within the gaming community. Their online membership is growing in leaps and bounds and it’s highly unlikely that it’s going to slow down anytime soon.
Dominoes Stars are firm believers in supporting this truly exciting game and hence the reason for their sponsorship. The 2009 Championships entertained players and spectators from Russia, USA, Ukraine, Estonia, UK and many other Countries. The Dominoes Stars sponsorship included the events held the night before the main event. The city of St.Petersburg Russia also hosted the International Domino Congress along with a Youth Exhibition Competition for players eighteen years of age and younger. Dominoes Stars believes in encouraging the youth of today to be competitive in the centuries old game of Dominoes. It is encouragement such as this that can only serve to keep the beloved game going strong.


Dominoes Stars also stands on the belief that the game of Dominoes should be Universal. To see that the popularity of the game spreads they have expanded their site worldwide. It is supportive to all aspects of the game. Jamaica was just one of the many teams that present at the World Championship of Dominoes and certainly made themselves known as to their capabilities as such did the other Countries. In the end, though it was Spain though that came out victorious.
